Purpose of Position: AWE Global Research Pvt Ltd serves as the R&D support center for AWE Technologies LLC, USA, which develops novel sensors in a wide range of fields from biomedical to oil & gas exploration. All sensors are based on adapting multimodal wave propagation (e.g., acoustic, electromagnetic, optical, etc.). We have an immediate opening for a Senior R&D Engineer position that will require the employee to support various ongoing sensor development and research activities at AWE Global Research, in collaboration with AWE Technologies. Our company focuses on innovation, solving challenging technical problems, and developing creative solutions that lead to technologies for a safer world. This person will be reporting directly to the Director of R&D.

Overview: Take a leadership role in the development of unique sensors for a wide range of applications in diverse areas. The primary objective of the research is to solve practical problems for industry and government. Be engaged in the product development process from concept to commercialization.

Responsibilities:

1. Support R&D activities on multiple projects by performing a range of experiments.

2. Perform computer-controlled experimentation and data acquisition from a range of laboratory instruments.

3. Use advanced signal processing and data analysis to extract the required information from data.

4. Work with ultrasonic instruments and piezoelectric transducers to perform experiments in nondestructive testing and ultrasonic manipulation techniques.

5. Review the experimental design before starting any experiments.

6. Come up with innovative ideas for solving challenging problems.

Required Skills

• Strong background and demonstrated hands-on experience in one or more areas: Sensor technologies in general, Ultrasonic techniques, Nondestructive measurement techniques, Wave propagation measurements, Numerical analysis, Signal processing, Computer-controlled experimentation.

• Fluency in one or more Computer Programming Languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python (preferred), C++, etc.).

• COMSOL Multiphysics modeling or equivalent

• Possess extensive hands-on experience in designing and conducting experiments.

• Excellent communication skills in English (both oral and written)

• Knowledge of electronics and of typical laboratory test instruments. • Ability to adapt to new requirements for projects and be flexible enough to learn new areas of research as needed.

• Able to work effectively as part of a team in a multi-disciplinary environment and interact effectively with people with a variety of expertise

• Demonstrated ability to plan and organize assignments so that schedules are met on time.

Minimum Qualifications: An M. Tech. in an engineering discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical) or in Applied Physics.
